On Saturday, September 3 at 6:00 PM on the Main Stage,

there will be a traditional

Hand-Fasting & Family-Joining Ceremony

for Deserae & Jared Lofstrom

This will be a traditional Scottish Ceremony incorporating many Highland traditions such as the Joining of the Clans, and the exchange of Luckenbooth symbols. The intertwining hearts of the Luckenbooth and the sometimes inscribed phrases such as "

of earthly Joys thou art my choice" are evidence of its purpose,

and a surmounting crown is symbolic of Mary of Scotland.

The Luckenbooth is probably the most romantic

and lovely symbol in Scotland's history.
